Thurs: Post Offices To Close For Staff Meeting
The Bermuda Post Office and all sub post offices will close at 1.00pm tomorrow [May 3] for a mandatory staff meeting.
A Government spokesperson said, “Tomorrow [May 3], the Minister for the Cabinet Office with responsibility for Government Reform, the Hon. Lovitta Foggo, JP,MP, will address all post office staff regarding the proposed plans for the evolution of services of the Bermuda Post Office [BPO].
“As a result, the Bermuda Post Office and all its sub post offices will close at 1.00 p.m. tomorrow for the mandatory staff meeting.
“As the public is aware, the Ministry for the Cabinet Office with responsibility for Government Reform is currently in the process of strategic planning and input from those who work for the BPO is vitally important to the process.
“Tomorrow’s mandatory staff meeting will mean no post office services will be provided after 1.00 p.m. tomorrow. Regular operation hours will resume on May 4.”
for goodness sake – close the post office at 2 so the public can use their lunch hour to get packages or use post office services.
no wonder more people use courier services and not the Government postal system, you are just making it harder to keep the business you have.
Anywhere else this would be called a strike. You have union shop stewards to represent their members to avoid mass walkouts like this. Why call everyone out?
