Bermuda Corona Corporate League Launched
The launch of the Corona Corporate League recently took place with nine teams taking part, with the winning team to have a $1,000 donation made to the charity of their choice in their name.
Michael McGrath said, “BAA recently heard that the old Corporate League wasn’t running this season and we knew that we needed to get these sporty people out of their offices, away from their desks and onto the field, so we reached out to our good friends at Goslings and quickly the Corona Corporate League was created.
“But it’s not just on the field we will find winners but in the community too, as the winning team will have a $1,000 donation made to the charity of their choice in their name.
“The league will be based on a Champions League style format with three leagues of three fighting for places and seeding in the quarter finals from June 11th to 27th.
“Then a knock out format from the quarter finals on 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th July through semi finals on Monday 9th July to the much anticipated final on Friday 13th July, which may be scary for both teams but will result in only one winner.
“Kick off’s will be 7pm each night with a 7pm and 9pm double header for the semi finals.
“And who are going to do battle for that spot in the finals I hear you ask. Well let me introduce to you the teams taking part in the new annual Corona Corporate League.
“The nine team competition is made up of EY; KPMG; Clarion Bank; Skyport; Bermuda Motors Ltd; Goslings; Butterfield Group; Belco; and Correia Construction.”
