Video: ‘Sea Change’ Highlights Female Sailors

August 28, 2018

Bermuda-based Argo Group International Holdings has released “Sea Change,” a short documentary film that highlights three women of the Argo-sponsored Vestas 11th Hour Racing crew: Hannah Diamond, Jena Mai Hansen and Stacey Jackson.

“We continue to partner with teams like Vestas 11th Hour Racing who share our commitment to innovation, teamwork and sustainability,” said Gary Grose, group producer management and marketing leader at Argo Group.

“Together, we will use this video to showcase these values and celebrate women who challenge themselves, take risks and change the world – qualities we encourage at Argo and on the sea.”

Vestas 11th Hour Racing was a contender in the 2017–2018 Volvo Ocean Race. A new rule in the latest edition of the event offered an advantage to teams that added female members, allowing them to sail with two to four more crew members than the maximum of seven permitted in all-male crews.

“It worked because every team had women on board,” said Stacey Jackson. “We’re honored to have this opportunity to highlight women breaking down barriers in sailing, similar to what emerging female leaders are accomplishing in the insurance industry.”

“As part of Argo’s commitment to diversity in the workforce, the company also will fund a $10,000 scholarship at St. John’s University for a female professional studying risk management and insurance,” the company said.
