33-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Collision
[Updated] Emergency services responded to a collision tonight [Oct 20] on North Shore Road in Smiths that involved two cars. Traffic is currently being diverted away from the area.
A police spokesperson said, “Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place on North Shore Road in Smiths in the area of Police Beach.
“Details are still emerging but it appears that two cars collided. It does not appear that anyone was injured, however, traffic is being diverted away from the collision while the scene is being processed.”
Update Oct 21, 5.08pm: A police spokesperson said, “Details remain limited at this time regarding the two car collision that occurred on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Jennings Road [Police Beach area] around 9:20pm Saturday, October 20th.
“However, police can now confirm that the driver of one of the vehicles involved – believed to be a 33-year-old Pembroke woman – was taken to hospital via ambulance for medical assessment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
