No Arrests In Roadside Sobriety Checkpoints
Road sobriety checkpoints conducted by the police from Thursday night [Nov 22] until early Friday morning [Nov 23] ended with no arrests for impaired driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Road sobriety checkpoints conducted by the Roads Policing Unit from Thursday night [November 22nd] until early Friday morning [November 23rd] ended with no arrests for impaired driving.
“Members of the public are reminded not to drive or ride under the influence as road sobriety checkpoints continue tonight [Friday, November 23rd], Saturday, November 24th and Sunday November 25th in Hamilton parish, Devonshire, Pembroke, Paget and Southampton.
“The Bermuda Police Service thanks the motoring public for their patience and cooperation while the road sobriety checkpoints are in operation.”
Look at that, Bermudians have stopped drinking and driving in just 3 months!

You mean to say they didn’t intercept any intoxicated dangerous criminals behind the wheel who have absolutely no care or consideration for their or anyone else’s safety and put their “right to drink” above human lives despite hundreds of people driving in this condition then fining them less than offenses which present no danger to anyone.

Yes there were custodial arrests. The term “custodial” refers to the suspect being in custody. It doesn’t necessarily mean handcuffs. Rather, it means that the police have deprived the suspect of his or her freedom of action in any significant way. A traffic stop an “arrest” within the meaning of Miranda? ) “Interrogation” means questioning.
