Motorcyclist Arrested Following Police Pursuit

December 26, 2018

A motorcyclist was arrested on Monday [Dec 24] after taking police on a chase in the Warwick and Paget area, before he ran and then gave up, according to police.

A police spokesperson said, “On Monday at 5:15pm officers were stationary at Christ Church Warwick when a male on a blue and white unregistered motocross cycle was seen travelling westerly on Middle Road in Warwick.

“Police activated emergency lights/sirens and the cycle failed to stop. The cycle turned left onto Khyber Pass, west along Spice Road, turning right onto Camp Road then the rider took a right onto Middle Road where the rider lost control of the cycle near Manse Road Paget.

“As officers were exiting the car, the suspect picked up his “scrambler” and pushed it towards officers to evade capture. The cycle struck an officer in his right knee and hit his left hand causing a minor laceration.

“The subject then ran on foot westerly on Middle Road and entered some thick trees in a driveway directly across the street from Four Ways Inn. At this point the subject was exhausted and gave himself up.

“The man was taken into police custody.”

The Motor Cross Cycles that you see on the public roads Is Not the MotorCross Cycles that race at Southside every other Sunday. So don’t go blaming us. Get your Facts right. Just because they are Scramblers doesn’t mean they race at SouthSide.
