The “Home of the Soaring Eagles” was buzzing with excitement as Clearwater Middle School hosted a seniors tea in the auditorium. Guests from the eastern communities and around the Island were welcomed by prefects and staff in a cheerful celebration.
Dozens of seniors were entertained with performances by Clearwater’s String Ensemble, School Choir [both under the direction of music teacher Mr. Martin Pastor] and African Dancers [taught by art teacher Mrs. Angela Ming-Bean] as Acting Deputy Principal Mr. M. Dean Foggo interacted with the audience as Master of Ceremonies.
There was also an expressive interpretive dance ministry by Mrs. June-Ann Furbert and Deputy Head Boy Ayr Cannonier received laughter and applause for his witty humor. The event was even capped off with dancing!

Mrs. Zina Francis-Smith, School Counselor, was delighted by the turnout and dedication of the event committee, students and volunteers. She explained that the purpose of the event was to allow young people to interact with seniors as many of them seldom do. Student assisted in making preparations, ushering guests to their seats, serving refreshments and cleaning up.
The occasion was generously supported with donations from A&M Bulk, CedarBridge Academy, Crow Lane Bakery, Just Dreams Bermuda, Ms. Lynnette Waldron [PALS Bermuda], The Marketplace, Mr. Richard Powell [Bermuda Breads], Southampton Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Mrs. Wendy Tully.
Acting Principal Mr. Anthony Wade was pleased to see the seniors honored in this fashion, as it exemplifies the core values for which Clearwater is known. He also expressed his appreciation to everyone that worked tirelessly to make the event so memorable.
