Armed Robbery At Ice Queen In Paget
Around 2:45am today [Feb 1] police responded to an armed robbery at Ice Queen in Paget with three men — two brandishing knives and one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm – demanding money.
Police also confirmed that “during the incident one of the employees was punched in the face.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:45am today [February 1st] police officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Ice Queen in Paget. It appears that three men entered the establishment – with two brandishing knives and one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm – and demanded money.
“The perpetrators fled on foot a short time later with a quantity of cash and were described as: approximately 6 feet tall wearing a camouflage coloured helmet with a tinted visor and black hoodie with white writing on the front; approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall wearing a black helmet with a tinted visor and black varsity jacket with white sleeves; and approximately 6 feet tall wearing a black helmet with a tinted visor and all black clothing respectively.
“During the incident one of the employees was punched in the face and sustained a cut above his eye. However, he declined medical attention. The scene has been processed and inquiries continue. Any witnesses are encouraged to call the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”

Ridiculous to suggest such a thing, Ice Queen does business late at night – why should they shut down? This restaurant has been serving Bermuda for DECADES at night with very few incidents and none for quite a very long time. Ice Queen is a good spot they should not have to close early. More stringent measu res by business owners may result in higher costs. Swifter trials and stiffer penalties will be part of reducing crime. Yes ban tinted visors and purchase sunshades. All these businesses that are isolated from the main roads, or close late at night need stronger deterrerents to protect themselves. What happen to noisy panic alarms.

When was the last time you saw in uniform officers on foot in the country ?
