Football: First & Premier Division Results

Robin Hood, Boulevard Blazers, PHC Zebras, Somerset Trojans, Dandy Town Hornets, Vasco, Southampton Rangers, Ireland Rangers, and Somerset Eagles all claimed victories in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division football action.

Premier: Robin Hood 7 – Paget Lions 0

Robin Hood put the pressure back on the PHC Zebras at the top of the table, with this big win over the Paget Lions at the BAA Field.

At the break, Robin Hood held a 5 – 0 advantage, with Antwan Russell scoring 4 times and Shakir Smith adding the other.

In the second half, Lejuan Simmons got things started making it 6 – 0, and Smith added his second of the game to make the final score 7 – 0.

Premier: Boulevard Blazers 2 – X-Roads 0

At the Bernard Park, the Boulevard Blazers eased their relegation worries with a 2 – 0 win over X-Roads. Ernest Trott converted from the penalty spot in the 21st minute, and the lead was doubled in the 32nd minute when Dun-ya Taylor scored. Neither team would score for the remainder of the game, resulting in Boulevard earning all three points.

Premier: PHC Zebras 3 – BAA 0

At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras earned a 3 – 0 win over BAA. Cecoy Robinson converted from the penalty spot in the 45th minute to give them the lead going to the break, Tre Ming doubled the lead in the 70th minute, and then in the 90th minute Jahiem Iris found the back of the net.

Premier: Somerset Trojans 2 – North Village Rams 1

A goal in each half from Justin Corday earned the Somerset Trojans a 2 – 1 win over the North Village Rams. Corday opened the scoring in the 16th minute, Kyler Knight equalized for the North Village Rams in the 54th minute, and just when it appeared that the teams would share the points, Corday scored the winner in injury time.

Premier: Devonshire Cougars 1 – Dandy Town Hornets 2

At the Devonshire Rec, visitors Dandy Town Hornets defeated the Devonshire Cougars 2 – 1. The Devonshire Cougars took the lead in the 27th minute when Jefrey Guerrero found the back of the net. Former Devonshire Cougars player/coach Kwame Steede equalized for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 51st minute, and then in the 84th minute Eusebio Blankendal scored the winner.

First: Vasco 3 – St. David’s 2

A 3 – 2 win at the Bernard Park over St. David’s earned Vasco a victory.

Vasco took the lead in the 35th minute when Ryan Parris scored, however two minutes later it was 2 – 0 when Ricardo Ponte found the back of the net.

In the 51st minute Vasco went ahead 3 – 0 when Ronald Bell’s long range free kick ended up in the back of the net, but St. David’s pulled a goal back in the 59th minute when Jamal Woodley struck a right footed shot that beat the Vasco keeper.

St. David’s then made it 3 – 2 when Deshun Hendrickson’s free kick from the edge of the box found the back of the net in the 82nd minute, however Vasco was able to hold on for the 3 – 2 win.

First: Devonshire Colts 1 – Southampton Rangers 2

At the Police Field, the Southampton Rangers defeated the Devonshire Colts 2 – 1. The Southampton Rangers took the lead in the 6th minute when Ezekiel Stoneham scored, Jarazhino Bassett doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, the Devonshire Colts would get on the scoresheet with an injury time strike from Justin Maybury.

First: Ireland Rangers 2 – St. George’s Colts 1

At Malabar, Ireland Rangers defeated the St. George’s Colts 2 – 1. Sakai Proctor gave Ireland Rangers the lead in the 37th minute, Jonathan Bean doubled the lead on the stroke of half time, and Sage Paynter pulled a goal back for the St. George’s Colts in the 53rd minute.

First: Somerset Eagles 3 – Wolves 1

At the White Hill Field, the Somerset Eagles defeated Wolves 3 – 1.  Tahj Wade opened the scoring for the Somerset Eagles in the 13th minute, Anwar Telford doubled the lead for the Somerset Eagles in the 31st minute. Marcus Ming replied for Wolves in 62nd minute, but Telford would restore the Somerset Eagles two goal lead with a strike in the 79th minute.
