Man Arrested: ‘Suspected Drugs & Bladed Article’
A 31-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening [Feb 16] after police officers monitoring the end of a football match at BAA “observed suspicious behaviour,” so approached the man, who was “eventually apprehended with a quantity of suspected drugs as well as a bladed article.”
A police spokesperson said, “A 31-year-old man was arrested around 11pm Saturday, February 16th on Woodlands Road in Pembroke after police officers monitoring the end of a football match at Bermuda Athletic Association’s Goose Gosling Field observed suspicious behaviour.
“When approached by police, the man ran from a section of bleachers on to Woodlands Road, where he was eventually apprehended with a quantity of suspected drugs as well as a bladed article.
“He was later released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“Any witnesses or members of the public with relevant information regarding suspicious activity at Goose Gosling Field during Saturday night’s football match are encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity.”
