AS Cooper’s Store Looks To Repurpose Space
A retail store’s second floor could be repurposed as small offices as the retailer seeks a new location for part of their business.
Somers Cooper, AS Cooper’s Managing Director, said, “For the last few years the second floor of our main store business on Front Street has housed our Children’s wear, Juniors and Missy ladies departments.
“While late last year we had planned to exit the Juniors and Missy business, we wanted to continue with our Children’s business but unfortunately have not been able find a suitable smaller location to re-locate.
“The Cosmetics, Jewelry and Home business will remain on the Front Street ground floor and the ladies designer clothing department will remain on the Reid Street third floor.”
A spokesperson said, “The three staff affected will be relocated to the different areas of the A.S. Cooper business.
“Starting tomorrow [April 29] for six days through Sunday, May 5, AS Cooper’s will hold a “Bye for Now” sale with savings up to 75% on remaining stock.”
Mr Cooper added, “The landlord is open to overtures to lease part or all of the 7,500 square foot space for retail or offices. The space includes the Front Street balcony and a wonderful view of Hamilton Harbour.”
