‘She Leads’ Programme Accepting Applications

April 8, 2019

BHS and HSBC Bank Bermuda announced that applications are now being accepted for the “She Leads: A Real World Readiness Programme” for young women who have just completed their penultimate year of high school at CedarBridge Academy, The Berkeley Institute or BHS.

“This week-long programme is an action packed experience that will run for a week from July 1st and has been specifically tailored to how girls learn and is focused on the objectives of empowering, inspiring, equipping and connecting participants,” the announcement said.

“By the end of the week students will leave inspired and energised, with a deeper understanding of their own strengths and unique skill sets.

“They will feel equipped and ready to take on the challenges of their academic career and beyond [internships, college, volunteer opportunities, or first job].

“To secure a spot for this exciting opportunity, applicants must demonstrate why they want to take part, in a way that’s meaningful to them – write a song, make a video, write an essay, make a sculpture, design an infographic – surprise the judges!

“Judges are looking for the candidates to demonstrate creativity, out-of-the-box thinking and engagement with the task. Send your expression of interest to sheleads@bhs.bm. If your submission can’t be emailed [e.g. a piece of art, a poster] it can be handed in to the reception at BHS [on Richmond Road] where Lorri Lewis will pass the submission to the selection committee.”

The deadline for all submissions is Friday May 10th.
