It would be wonderful if blame and politics could be kept out of the discussion.
Our kids deserve better than “back in 1989 etc”
It appears that financial cut backs can be made with the redundancy of PS’s across all ministries. This event(Mold at Tatem) alone has shown two figures the Minister and COE of education in all instances. The highest civil servant tier of the ministry puts out no statement and is not visible. Same thing happens in other ministries, its typically the Minister and a director so why are PS’s needed?? I’d venture to say their position and responsibilities can be combined with director level positions(since most pS’s were directors) add a small pay increase for directors given the responsibility increase, instead of paying the full 179k to each PS. You would save over 1 million overnight. Just an observation from the outside. Wishful thinking since many friends are at executive level, but hey if the Government is serious. There are ways obvious ways to streamline…..just look at what the bank did today.
Bite your tongue! The PLP Government put people out of work? Preposterous!
So everyone is starting to agree the OBA was right. We don’t need as many schools, because there are fewer children.
The PLP has come to the same realization, five years later. Kind of like Pathways, work permits, the airport, etc.
But they wont do it. Not there idea and especially since they OBAS idea.
