‘Bermuda Advocates For Safe Technology’
A recently-formed group called Bermuda Advocates for Safe Technology [BAST] are working to bring awareness to what they said could be risks “surrounding over-exposure to electro smog from cell towers/antennae, WiFi and cellular devices.”
A spokesperson said, “Whilst there is no question that advances in technology have enhanced our lives, with the proliferation of wireless technologies, it is important that the public be aware of and protected from the risks of over-exposure.”
“Recently we made a joint submission to the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda [RAB] on behalf of BAST and BEST [Bermuda Environmental Sustainability Task Force] in response to the public consultation on the lifting of the moratorium on the Granting of New Integrated Communications Operating Licenses. We expect that it will be possible for the public to review all submissions once they are posted on their website in the very near future.”
The group noted that today, May 15th, is National 5G Action Day in the US and they are using this opportunity to draw particular attention to the new 5G cell antennae technology which they said “will greatly increase our exposure.”
