Emergency Service Personnel ‘Beyond The Call’
Emergency Service personnel in Bermuda and North America are this week celebrating under the theme of “Beyond the Call.”
The annual EMS Strong campaign provides opportunities to recognize and strengthen the profession in Bermuda, and the celebrations bring together key partners in the community who are all committed to delivering superb medical care to the Bermuda community.
“The care that EMS practitioners provide in the community provides emergent first response, treatment and transport are part of the integrated component that aids our healthcare system,” the group explained.
“EMS personnel represent the Bermuda Hospitals Board, Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, Bermuda Police Service. Fire Dispatch, Bermuda Radio and volunteer organization St. John Ambulance Brigade.
“EMTs and Nurses provide services including pre- hospital care, injury and illness prevention, CPR, Bleeding control and First Aid training. This year’s theme” Beyond the Call” truly reflects the evolving role that healthcare workers provide beyond the 911 response. EMS Week is also celebrated across North America.”
