Correia Qualifies For Jumping Challenge Finals
The 2018 FEI World Jumping Challenge came to a successful conclusion for Bermuda show jumper Philip Correia and his stallion Emerson, with the pair securing first place in the Category “A” [1.20m – 1.30m] division for Regional Zone 10 while also achieving a 24th placing out of a field of 278 competitors from around the world.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Equestrian Federation is delighted to advise that, as consequence of Philip Correia’s outstanding results, the FEI has extended an invitation to Philip to compete at the 2019 FEI World Jumping Challenge Finals. This year’s finals will be held in Quito, Ecuador from 9th – 15th September.
“With competitors travelling from around the globe, the host country will provide borrowed horses for the invited riders to compete upon.”
“Although 278 competitors, from around the world, competed in 1.20m – 1.30m height division of the 2018 FEI World Jumping Challenge, only the top two placing riders from each of the ten regional zones are invited to compete in the 2019 FEI Jumping World Challenge Finals.
“Philip previously represented Bermuda and was awarded a silver medal at the 2016 FEI World Jumping Challenge Finals held in Rabat Morocco.
“The Bermuda Equestrian Federation extends its sincere congratulations to Philip Correia on his commendable achievements.”
