    SAFETY NET & BALANCE.

    Walking across a Circus tight rope, pole in hand takes poise and a good sense of balance, some Circus performers have even tried that trick while riding a pedal bike, always with a safety net.

    Riding a motorcycle is much more challenging as one has to contend with other road users with no physical safety net.

    Fear and Anxiety protects us while over confidence can lead to disaster, fear is a human form of safety net.

    Misfortune can happen in a micro second as over thousands of need less collisions may have happened in the past few minutes.

    The potential of misfortune is ever present as many accidents happen in less time than the first 5 minutes of leaving home . You could drop you bike !

    Lady luck is not always there to protect you.

    How many time have you heard from you friends ” BE SAFE”.

    It is most important to be aware of your present and future circumstances and you don’t need a crystal ball for that.

    Here are some hints.

    BALANCE :::::::::

    Do , sit on the bike before moving it.
    Don’ t, walk along side of your bike it could topple over pulling you on top of it, the bike may catch fire.

    BALANCE while riding.

    Do : Keep your weight directly above the road tire patch and show rider confidence.
    Do, : Lean the BIKE ONLY when cornering.
    Don’t : Driver should not LEAN with the bike when cornering. ( because of shower Bda speeds )

    VISUAL ::::::: While riding

    FACTS : Do: Driver turn your head……. * Where you look you will go.
    Do: look as far as you can for obstacles.

    PILLION PASSENGER
    * Should also turn head with driver, failure to do so will throw the bike out of balance.
    Should never put feet on the ground at any stop.

    LOOK for means of escape.
    Third lane is dangerous.
    Overtaking on the inside is dangerous.

    BE SAFE !
