Dame Jennifer Smith Future Leaders Ceremony
Tuesday, June 18, 2019, marked the 13th installment of the Dame Jennifer Smith, Future Leaders Award ceremony. The function was held at the East End Primary School. Present was Minister of Works, Lt. Col. David Burch, MPs Renee Ming, Kim Swan and Tinee Furbert and former Premier Dame Jennifer Smith.
Eight students from the area schools were honoured for their leadership qualities having been nominated by there respective principals.

The Dame Jennifer Smith Future Leader Awards recognizes young people who demonstrate leadership qualities at an early age. Since its inception, the initiative has recognized over ninety students for a combination of the following; leadership qualities, athletic abilities, deportment and community involvement.

Clearwater Middle School:

The keynote speaker, Brianna Bean delivered a timely message to the group which spoke to ‘being your best self!’
Speaking on the evening, MP Ming responded, “I love this event, in fact this is my favourite event to host because our children are doing some amazing things.” She went on to say, “I look forward to seeing what each awardee does with their life in the future. The future is truly bright!”
