Boris Johnson To Be New UK Prime Minister
Boris Johnson has been elected as the new leader of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom, setting him up to succeed Theresa May as Prime Minister.
A BBC story said, “Boris Johnson has been elected new Conservative leader in a ballot of party members and will become the next UK prime minister.
“He beat Jeremy Hunt comfortably, winning 92,153 votes to his rival’s 46,656. The former London mayor takes over from Theresa May on Wednesday.
“Speaking at the Queen Elizabeth II centre in London, he said: “We are going to energise the country.
“We are going to get Brexit done on 31 October and take advantage of all the opportunities it will bring with a new spirit of can do.
“We are once again going to believe in ourselves, and like some slumbering giant we are going to rise and ping off the guy ropes of self doubt and negativity.”
A Guardian story said, “Boris Johnson will become Britain’s next prime minister after being elected leader of the Conservative party, defeating Jeremy Hunt in the party’s leadership contest.
“The former mayor of London, who has long cherished an ambition to lead his country, won the contest by a convincing margin 92,153 votes to 46,656, with 66% of the vote. Turnout was 87.4% among 159,320 party members.
“In a characteristically flippant acceptance speech, Johnson conceded that even some of his own supporters may “wonder quite what they have done.”
“He said that at a pivotal moment in history, his party must show its “historic ability to balance competing instincts – marrying the desire to maintain a close relationship with the EU, with the desire for democratic self-government in this country”.
“He reminded his audience of ministers and party staff of his campaign mantra: “Deliver Brexit, unite the country and defeat Jeremy Corbyn.”

So here is where the buffoonery will begin from Number 10. Anyone ready to at least discuss Independence?
Or are we waiting until PM Johnson crashes out of the EU, decimated the value of Sterling and Britain is left alone when Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland decide to stay in the EU.
Please tell him not to say “I look forward to seeing the P**canninies waving flags when I visit”
Why would you care about the value of Sterling?
Independence? You get the joke of the day award!
The words of Max Hastings, who once employed Johnson as a columnist, defines him the best:
“Boris is a gold medal egomaniac. I would not trust him with my wife nor – from painful experience – my wallet. His chaotic public persona is not an act – he is indeed manically disorganised about everything except his own image management. He is also a far more ruthless and frankly, nastier, figure than the public appreciates. I would not take Boris’s word about whether it is Monday or Tuesday. He is not a man to believe in, to trust or respect, save as a superlative exhibitionist. He is bereft of judgement, loyalty or discretion. Only in the star-crazed, frivolous Britain of the 21st Century, could such a man have risen so high, and he is utterly unfit to go higher still.”
One would think that with a reputation like that, he would be relegated to the dustbin of history, but not Johnson. That, my friends, says more about those who elected Johnson, than Johnson. Politics, 2019 style.
is that the best the former Man in the High Castle can say.
Trump is “unfit” to be President and now Boris.
Boris will not be there after January if his past record comes to the fore. But if he has a good team he might surprise us all. It has happened before.
But what a joke to pick him. Oh, it’s called democracy. The same people who voted for Brexit voted him in.
