BPS Staff Satisfaction Results To Be Released

July 18, 2019

The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] is getting set to share with officers and staff the results of a recent staff satisfaction survey.

Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley said, “As part of our 7 Ambitions change programme, it is essential we have the views of officers and staff to ensure the BPS grows as an organisation that values its employees and enables them to reach their full potential.

“Surveys can often be seen with the suspicious view that the ‘difficult stuff’ will be swept under the carpet. The senior leadership team of the BPS are committed this will not happen and we will build on the positive findings of the survey and work hard to address areas of concern.

“A significant majority of the BPS completed the survey and we have established a dedicated review group, made up of front line officers and staff, to identify what needs to be done in response and we will act on their recommendations accordingly.

“Whilst I am pleased with some of the findings, with three quarters of the BPS having a clear understanding to our strategic objectives and nearly all of the organisation understanding our 7 Ambitions for change, there is work to do in ensuring equal opportunities for all and in areas such as perceptions around promotion policies.

“Over the coming months we will take forward all the findings and work hard as a team to make changes with the sole focus of ensuring our service to local communities gets even better and that all BPS officers and staff feel valued in their work and deliver great work as public servants to Bermuda.”
