Bermuda Cricket Board Says ‘Thank You’
The Executive of the Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] have thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the recently held 2019 ICC Americas – T20 World Cup Final.
A spokesperson said, “The Executive of the Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to those who contributed to the success of the 2019 ICC Americas – T20 World Cup Final held from August 18-25.
“The organisation of the four-team tournament played a huge role in the National Cricket Team’s Global qualification in the UAE in October 2019 and was a chance to show that Bermuda has the capability and the facilities to host world-class, international cricket tournaments.
“The board would like to thank the coaches, staff, vendors and our sponsors: The Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation, The Bermuda Tourism Authority, One Communications, DHL, John Barritt, KPMG and Gosling’s for their continuous support in the development of cricket on island.
“Zubin Sukari and Andrea Hufferd from the ICC Americas Region and participating teams, Canada, USA and the Cayman Islands.
“As well as the staff and groundsmen at the National Sports Centre and our host venue, Somerset Bridge/White Hill Field, Willowbank Hotel for hosting the teams, the Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association, GET Security and the media for covering the matches over 6 days.
“We also want to acknowledge our tournament volunteers, some of who took time off from their busy schedules to help make sure that the week of matches ran as smoothly as possible and of course the local community who came out to support Bermuda cricket.”
Props to Somerset Bridge groundstaff for pitching in to ensure the wicket held up for those extra days. Well done to all involved in the tournament in general.
