Lecture To Explore African Bermudian History
Organisers ‘Empowered Me Wellness’ will be presenting ‘Healing Thyself Through Knowing Thyself’ on September 22nd at Liberty Theater, saying the lecture and chat event will explore African Bermudian history with Mwalimu Melody Micere Van Putten and African Spirituality with Professor James Small.”
A spokesperson said, “How much do you really know about your history, your origins and your culture? If you are like me, you probably don’t know enough!
“Knowledge is the capacity to know oneself. The ability to draw on our ancestors past experiences, history, and spirituality to help develop healing, resilience, and strategies to overcome obstacles and understand problems that reoccur in the environment.
“Knowledge of our history and spirituality hold the keys to understanding our behavior and answers for our collective healing.
