Pembroke Parish Council Awards Scholarships
The Pembroke Parish Council awarded more than $10,000 to four deserving young Pembroke residents to study at the Bermuda College.
Daeshone Young [17] received a full scholarship of $6,000 from the Council and is enrolled in the Associates of Business Administration programme at the College.
Reza Suhartono [17], D’Naje Washington [17], a dual enrolment student, and Shaddai Hollis [17] are enrolled in the Associate of Arts programmes, and will receive awards of $1500 each.

Pembroke Parish Council Chair, Patricka Ferguson said the awards will be an annual event and encouraged Pembroke residents to apply to the Council Scholarship Committee as early as possible.
“Education is one of the best investments we can make in our community,” she said. “The Council is pleased to be able to award these funds to well-deserving students who are committed to making a difference.
“We commend them for their scholastic diligence and for their well-roundedness in community service and extra-curricular involvement, and look forward to them working with the Council throughout the tenure of their award.

The Council says it aims to have a more visible profile over the next year with several events and initiatives are now being planned for the Pembroke community.
