Football: Premier & First Division Results

PHC Zebras, Somerset Eagles, Devonshire Cougars, Southampton Rangers, St. David’s, and Devonshire Colts all claimed victories in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division football action.

Premier: PHC Zebras 3 Somerset Trojans 2

At the PHC Stadium the defending league champions saw off a spirited Somerset Trojans team, picking up a 3 – 2 win. Somerset Trojans took the lead in the 20th minute when Leo Burgess scored, but Aquino Grant equalized for the PHC Zebras in the 39th minute. Four minutes later the PHC Zebras took the lead when Tre Ming scored as they took the 2 – 1 lead to the break.

Jaz Rattery Smith drew the Somerset Trojans level when he scored in the 54th minute, but five minutes later Ming scored his second that proved to be the winner.

Premier: Somerset Eagles 1 Dandy Town 0

At the White Hill Field, the Somerset Eagles picked up three points as they defeated the Dandy Town Hornets 1 – 0.

The lone goal of the game came when Anwar Telford converted from the penalty spot.

Premier: Devonshire Cougars 2 Boulevard Blazers 0

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the Devonshire Cougars defeated the Boulevard Blazers 2 – 0. A goal in the 30th minute from Erin Butterfield gave the Devonshire Cougars the lead and Chris Caisey doubled the lead in the 75th minute to secure the three points.

Premier: Southampton Rangers 4 X-Roads 0

The Southampton Rangers picked up a 4 – 0 win over X-Roads at the Southampton Oval, Donte Brangman in the 41st minute, one minute later it was 2 – 0 when Damon Ming scored. In injury time, Shayne Hollis converted from the penalty spot to make it 3 – 0. Maquel Nisbett-Tankard would score in the 89th minute to earn them the 4 – 0.

First: Young Men Social Club 0 St. David’s 2

At the PHC Stadium, St. David’s came away with a 2 – 0 win over Young Men Social Club. After a scoreless first half, St. David’s took the lead in the 57th minute. In the 56th minute St. David’s were awarded a penalty which was saved by the Young Men Social Club goalkeeper, but in the celebration a defender grabbed the ball out of the hands of the goalkeeper and another penalty was awarded, the second penalty was also saved, but the rebound was put away by Kurtis Minors. The lead was doubled in the 70th minute when Deshun Hendrickson’s free kick went in from a distance.

First: Wolves 2 Devonshire Colts 6

The Devonshire Colts also defeated the Wolves.
