Northshore Medical Receives Accreditation
Northshore Medical and Aesthetic Center [NMAC], an award-winning healthcare provider on the Island, announced today [Sept 13] it has once again met all necessary criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, an American healthcare accreditation organization.
This accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day to day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. NMAC has earned the COLA accreditation as a result of its dedication and commitment to providing quality service to its patients.
“The COLA accreditation speaks to our commitment to excellence,” said Dr. Kyjuan Brown, Medical Director at NMAC. “Clinical laboratories that are given this special seal of approval are not only dedicated to providing patients with accurate medical results, they are also committed to improving safety and the overall experience for customers. This is the third time this accreditation has been awarded to us; and we are especially please this time because we passed the rigorous review process with distinction.”
He continued: “My team and I are extremely proud to be recognised as one of the worthy institutions to receive this honour and will continue to make strides to provide patients with the best possible medical care.”
COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization that promotes quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programmes of voluntary education, achievement and accreditation. In 1993, COLA was granted deemed status by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services [CMS] to provide laboratory accreditation.
As a leading laboratory accreditor in the United States, COLA is the only laboratory accreditation provider that operates its accreditation programme in accordance with a quality management system certified to ISO 9001: 2015. This means they offer their customers a unique, standardized programme and staff dedicated to satisfaction and laboratory quality.
Their surveyors and technical advisors are guided by a coaching approach and uncomplicated quality engineered processes. Laboratories of all types and sizes are evaluated and mentored to produce accurate test results and meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments [CLIA] regulations.
