Skyport: Move Cars As Hurricane Approaches
Skyport has encouraged the “travelling public to remove their vehicles from long term parking at the LF Wade International Airport in advance of Hurricane Humberto.”
“Tropical storm winds are expected late Wednesday evening, continuing into Thursday. High tides are also forecast and as a precaution, drivers should remove their vehicles,” a spokesperson said.
“And if you are travelling before the storm is expected, please do not leave your car in the long-term parking area.”
Mikaela Pearman, Marketing & Communications Officer, Skyport, says: “While we can’t predict the exact weather conditions, the low-lying car park at the LF Wade International Airport has historically been subject to flooding.
“Thus, we would like the public to take the necessary precautions and remove their vehicles from the long-term parking area in the event flooding should occur. If you are off island, please try to find someone to move your car for you if possible.”

An excellent piece of advice, as the experiences of previous hurricanes should show! I just hope that the vehicles parked there by people already off the island are somehow taken care of.
