Two People Arrested After Separate Collisions
Police are investigating two collisions — one in Pembroke and one in Southampton — both of which resulted in someone being injured, as well as someone being arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.
Pembroke
A police spokesperson said, “The investigation into a reported serious two vehicle collision that occurred around 1:45am Saturday, September 14th at the junction of Cedar Avenue, St. John’s Road and Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke continues.
“At last check the 29-year-old male motorcyclist involved remained in hospital receiving treatment for injuries that are understood to be serious but not life threatening.
“The 34-year-old male driver of the car involved – who was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following the collision – has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“Any witnesses are still encouraged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.
Southampton
“Around 8:45pm Saturday, September 14th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Southampton near Harbour View Drive.
“It appears that a car was being driven west on South Road and a motorcyclist was traveling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred in the vicinity of the entrance to Fairmont Southampton resort.
“The rider involved, said to be a 65-year-old Warwick man, was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of injuries that are understood to be non-life threatening.
“He was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and then released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“The driver of the car, said to be a 61-year-old Southampton man, was not hurt.
“Both vehicles involved were damaged.
