UK And EU Reach Tentative Brexit Deal
A new Brexit deal has reportedly been agreed to between the United Kingdom and European Union during a meeting of negotiating teams in Brussels.
A BBC story said, “Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted: “We’ve got a great new deal that takes back control.”
“The two sides have been working on the legal text of a deal, but it will still need the approval of both the UK and European parliaments.
“BBC chief political correspondent Vicki Young says the DUP will not support it. She said senior DUP MPs have met in the Commons to discuss the deal, but will not vote for it.
“Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the deal sounded “even worse” than what was negotiated by the PM’s predecessor, Theresa May, and “should be rejected” by MPs.
But European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said it was a “fair and balanced agreement”. Both he and Mr Johnson have urged their respective parliaments to back the deal.”
A CNN story said, “British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker tweeted almost simultaneously Thursday morning that agreement had been reached between the UK and EU on a new withdrawal deal.
“Johnson now goes to Brussels for a two-day summit with EU leaders. Johnson still has to get the support of UK parliament. And that remains a tall order.
“The British pound has jumped on news of a Brexit deal. Sterling climbed more than 1% to 1.29 against the dollar as the news emerged.”

What does our Brexit committee have to say?
It still has to go through and be approved by the UK parliament and that will be tougher than getting the concessions from Brussels.
