Warwick Academy Win BSSF Swim Meet

Warwick Academy coasted past all opposition at the Bermuda School Sports Federations Middle and Senior School Swim meets held at the National Sports Center.

Warwick finished first in the Girls, Boys and Overall Divisions in the Middle School Meet.

Warwick scored 166 points to win the Girls Division, Saltus finished in second place with 102 and BHS in third with 91. Warwick won the Boys Division with 161 points, Saltus finished nine points back in second place with 152 and Somersfield Academy rounded on the top three with 30 points. The double win earned Warwick the overall win with 329 points followed by Saltus with 254 points and BHS’ 91 points in the Girls Division was enough for them to finish third place overall

Imojen Judd from Somersfield Academy was a double winner after she won the Under 13 Girls Backstroke and Individual Medley. Other Division winners were Warwick’s Marleigh Howes and Juliette Smatt in the Butterfly and Freestyle and Saltus’ Gwen Davidson in the Breaststroke. Thomas Cechini from Somersfield Academy was the only double winner in the Under 13 Boys Division. Cechini claimed Gold in the Butterfly and Individual Medley. Tyler Coleman from Saltus won the Backstroke while classmate Carter Bernard touched the wall first in the Breaststroke. Matthis Drew from Bermuda Center for Creative Learning won the Freestyle event.

Warwick Academy won four of the five individual races in the Over 13 Division. Bella Howes won the Individual Medley and Breaststroke. Adriana Argent won the Freestyle while Daria Desmond won the Butterfly event. Caitlin Coleman from Saltus prevented the Warwick sweep with a win in the Backstroke. Warwick did sweep all races in the Over 13 Boys Division. Flynn Brown won the Backstroke and Freestyle with Brandon Adkins winning the Butterfly and Individual Medley. Daniel Kunst rounded on the Warwick sweep with a win in the 50 meter Breaststroke.

Warwick continued their dominance in the Senior Division with a victory in the Senior School Meet, Warwick again won all Divisions on their way to their title defense. Warwick won the Girls Division with 164 over BHS and Saltus who both finished with 78. The Boys team also finished top with 161 points, Saltus finished second with 127. Warwick finished tops overall with 325 over Saltus with 205.

Taylor White led Warwick in the Under 16 Girls Division with wins in the Butterfly and Individual Medley. Warwick Josephine Durden won the Breaststroke with Somersfield’s Myeisha Sharrieff won the Backstroke and schoolmate Jaedyn Judd won the Freestyle. Warwick won four of the five Under 15 Boys races with Finn Moseley in the Butterfly and IM, Jayson Outerbridge in the Backstroke, and Leo Foster in the Butterfly. Tommy Marhsall form Saltus won the Breaststroke

Skyler Powell from Warwick won the Over 16 Girls Butterfly and IM while Skylar Trott from BHS won the Backstroke and Freestyle. The Breaststroke winner was Genevieve Lau from BHS. Warwick again swept the Division in the over 16 Boys Division. Caleb Ingham won the Butterfly and Freestyle, Brian Desmond won the IM, and Jack Harvey claimed Gold in both the Backstroke and Breaststroke.
