BMC: ‘We Condemn The Antisocial Behavior’

November 6, 2019

Following the incident that occurred in the Clearwater Beach area this past holiday weekend, the Bermuda Motocross Club said that while it “was not at all associated with the BMC or any of our members” they want “to publicly condemn, in the strongest terms, the antisocial behavior.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Motocross Club [BMC] is aware that an incident occurred at or around the Clearwater Beach area this past holiday weekend, on Monday, November 4 2019 involving an off-duty police officer.

“Whilst this incident was not at all associated with the BMC or any of our members, we take this time to publicly condemn, in the strongest terms, the antisocial behavior that occurred on Monday. We will assist the authorities with their investigation and work with them to ensure that the vicinity within and surrounding the race track where our members ride remains a safe environment for all.

“The management team of the BMC works diligently to ensure that we foster and maintain a family-friendly environment that provides our members with opportunities to ride motocross bikes in a controlled setting where they are not a risk to the public. The BMC is governed by rules and by-laws that serve to protect our members and the community, and they have been and will remain strictly enforced.

“The Bermuda community is always welcome to attend our events. We take this time to extend an invitation for the community to attend the Southside Motorsports Park this Sunday, November 10 and Monday, November 11, for a day of exciting motocross action. Entrance fees are $5 for children / $10 for adults and racing starts at 12:30 pm. Please come out and support our talented and dedicated youth and enjoy a fun experience for the entire family.”
