Dellwood Win BSSF Middle School Netball Title
Dellwood Middle School won the 2019 Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Middle School Netball Tournament with a 13-5 final victory over Sandy’s Secondary Middle School.
Makaylie Smith led the way for the champions with 12 goals, Amayah Burt added the other. Kammie Mills scored 3 for the West Enders with N’Kobi Derosa chipping in with 2.
Dellwood were held 3-3 at the half in the Semi-Final by Saltus Grammar School before pulling away in the second half to win 9-3. Smith again led Dellwood with 7 goals, while Jaelyn Lambert scored 2. Ramiah Brangman led Saltus with 2 goals with Chloe Bennett adding a single goal.
Mills scored a sudden death goal in overtime to give Sandys a 6-5 win over the Whitney institute in the other Semi-Final. Derosa led Sandys with 4 goals and Mills scored 2. Kari Virgil scored 4 for Whitney with Mitayah Richardson rounding out the scoring with a goal.
