Road Closures For Plant Construction Extended

The Ministry of Public Works is advising that the two road closures to be held simultaneously from Monday, December 10 through to January 2020 to accommodate construction of the North Power Plant at BELCO have been extended to Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works is advising motorists and pedestrians that the two road closures held simultaneously from Monday, December 10, 2018 through to January 2020 to accommodate construction of the North Power Plant at BELCO have been extended to Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

“As a reminder, the closures are taking place on the following roads:

  • Tribe Road #2: Between St. John’s Road and Cemetery Road
  • Cemetery Road: Between Cemetery Lane and the bridge to Gorham’s Limited.

“Motorists and pedestrians are advised to use alternative routes via John’s Road and Cemetery Lane during this time as no access will be granted to the public. Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO representatives.
