They won for now. The taxpayers lost. They got paid to do nothing and will now get overtime to pick up the trash they got paid to not collect. The PLP are weak so expect more of the same. Just wait until there is no money to pay the public sector early next year.

  2. Hmmm says:

Work to rule? Doesn’t look like any trash in the west end was connected… More rats fr my cats!!!

    • Paul says:

The trash is still not picked up in Southamton..I have never seen this disgusting situation ever before !!!

    Good negotiations.

    • sandgrownan says:

You didn’t even get a complimentary reach around

    • Wahoo says:

  4. observer says:

When will the management take a close look at how their managements play the system for personal gain there is still too much over time and workers done for the day early go figure

  5. comfortably numb says:

I thought ‘work to rule’ meant work your regular hours but nothing more (eg overtime). How is then that not one bag of trash was picked up between Barnes Corner and Somerset Village today? So no work today but plenty of overtime tomorrow? – only in Bermuda!

  6. Paul says:

And the beat goes on… trash is all over the Island I have never seen so many rats ,chickens and birds in all of my days !!! what do the tourist think ? we have to do better than this .Burch needs to say “so long bye bye”.

“Workers have also agreed to work overtime over the next two days to collect all the remaining garbage.”

Well, that’s very generous of them. Sit on your butts for a few days, and then get paid extra for doing the job you should have been doing in the first place.

    This island really is screwed.

  8. sandgrownan says:

And there you have it, they have *agreed* to have some overtime.

  9. JohnnyB says:

agreed to work overtime….thats nice, nothing like a little double time on the publics dime.

  10. John says:

If you weren’t at the meeting to know why this has come about, just shut up and keep your stupid opinions to yourself

    • truthertz says:

Nah. We (the taxpayers) won’t shut up when we are forced to pay more for less and less services. Suck it up buttercup.

    • sandgrownan says:

No. I wont. Can I deliver my trash to your house or do I get a tax refund?

    • question says:

The usual way taxpayers are treated.

    • saud says:

“If you weren’t at the meeting to know why this has come about, just shut up and keep your stupid opinions to yourself”

LOL, why do “true, real born bermudians” hate democracy so much? Is it because you’re republicans at heart? followers of the Donald, worshippers of the Dollar!
