Karting Race Day Called Off Due To High Winds
The Bermuda Karting Club announced that racing today [Jan 5] has been cancelled due to the high winds.
In a post on social media, the Club said, “Due to today’s high winds, Race Day #5 has been cancelled. We will resume Race Day #6 next Sunday January 12th.”
The Bermuda Weather Service issued a Gale Warning valid from this morning to this evening, and their forecast for today states, “Strong gales with storm force gusts continue through the afternoon as a complex low passes to the north. A rapidly moving cold front brings showers, some heavier around midday.”
“Winds begin decreasing by this evening, becoming moderate by Monday morning and light to moderate Tuesday morning as a center of high pressure passes to the near south. Winds then increase strong Tuesday night, ahead of weak cold front.”
