Chamber To Host Budget Breakfast On Feb 24
The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is getting set to host its annual Budget Breakfast on Monday, February 24 at The Hamilton Princess and Beach Club.
The Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer Kendaree Burgess said, “We are pleased to host our annual Budget Breakfast, to be held the Monday morning immediately following the Friday 21 February Budget Statement.
“We welcome the opportunity to present a forum for the Bermuda business community to connect and participate in discussions surrounding the Budget Statement.”
A spokesperson said, “The event, sponsored by PwC Bermuda will follow the same panel format as previous years. This year’s breakfast will feature the Minister of Finance, the Honorable Curtis Dickinson JP, MP, panelists Economist Nathan Kowalski, Bermuda Public Services Union General Secretary Edward Ball and Head of Healthcare Broking, North America at Willis Towers Watson, Kirsten E. Beasley.
“The panel will be moderated by PwC Bermuda leader Arthur Wightman.”
Arthur Wightman, PwC Bermuda leader, said, “PwC is pleased to once again be the exclusive sponsor of the annual Bermuda Chamber of Commerce Budget Breakfast.
“This important annual forum provides an opportunity for the Finance Minister to discuss his budget and engage in a lively debate with Bermuda’s business community.
“PwC’s 2020 Global Annual CEO Survey highlights record levels of pessimism in the global economy. Bermuda is faced with its own mounting challenges, not least to jump-start the economy and make sure it works for all. With ten years to go to achieve its shared vision to end poverty, rescue the planet and build a peaceful world, the United Nations is calling on more governments, civil society, businesses and all people to make its 17 sustainable development goals their own.
“The key to achieving sustainability in Bermuda is a collective and common focus on those things that will enable social, economic and environmental prosperity.”
