Legal Fraternity Walk Fundraiser Raises $8,050

The Bar Council was able to raise $8,050 during their Legal Fraternity Charity Walk, which was held on November 19, 2019.

The money raised will be split and presented to The Coalition for the Protection of Children’s Breakfast for Every Child Programme and The Reading Clinic.

A spokesperson said, “Organised by the Bermuda Bar Council, the event saw lawyers and support staff walking around the City of Hamilton, beginning at the Sessions House and ending at Docksiders Pub.

“Local law firms and in-house counsel were asked to make donations of $250 and upwards towards the cause. Money raised was split evenly between the Coalition for the Protection of Children’s Breakfast for Every Child Programme and The Reading Clinic.

“Elizabeth Christopher, President of the Bermuda Bar Association, is pleased to report that $8,050.00 was raised.

“The Bar Council wanted to do something that gives back to charities that assist some of our more vulnerable members of society.

“Local firms Carey Olsen Bermuda Limited, Conyers Dill & Pearman Limited and MJM Limited were the top local fundraisers and were presented with a shield in recognition of their substantial donations.”
