Covid-19: Peppercorn Ceremony Cancelled
The annual Peppercorn Ceremony – which was scheduled to take place on April 22nd — has been cancelled due to Covid-19.
A spokesperson said, “The Corporation of St. George [CSG] would like to inform the public that the annual Peppercorn Ceremony that was scheduled to take place 22nd April has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

“The public is reminded that the CSG offices are closed to the public however, staff are working remotely to ensure business continuity. The CSG Council are continuing to meet utilizing online platforms to ensure that the Town’s business continues and to ensure seamless operations during these difficult times.
“In addition, essential operations for the Corporation of St. George are continuing to provide essential services to the Town. The CSG along with Hunt’s Sanitation, Mr. Clinton Paynter and others worked to ensure that trash was collected in the wider St. George’s community and St. David’s areas. The CSG would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts, Heroes everyone.
“Mayor Dowling would like to remind everyone to be vigilant and adhere to the Bermuda Government regulations and guidelines as we all navigate these unprecedented times together.”
