Duane Crockwell Rescues Duckling Family

Duane Crockwell, the City of Hamilton’s General Superintendent, recently took action when a family of ducklings slipped into a storm drain, rescuing and reuniting them with their mother.

In an online post, the City of Hamilton posted the photo below, saying, “Whilst doing rounds in the City, Duane Crockwell, the City’s General Superintendent, was flagged down by a concerned animal lover who had witnessed a family of ducklings slip into one of the City’s storm drains.

“Crockwell sprang into action – no duck would die on his watch.

“With a van full of the appropriate tools, Duane loosened the grate and was able to carefully rescue each of the ducklings and reunite them with their mother. A feel good moment for sure. Thank you Duane!”
