Apex Announces Appointment Of Jon Hanifan
Apex Group Ltd. announced that Jon Hanifan has been appointed Head of Corporate Solutions, Americas with effect from July 1, 2020.
A spokesperson said, “The appointment follows a flurry of US announcements from the Group regarding the expansion of its service capabilities across the Americas region; including the recent announcement of locally delivered Escrow services, its partnership on a transfer agency platform and the expansion of its business services subsidiary, Throgmorton, into the local market.
“Hanifan, who is currently Head of Tax & Deputy Head at Apex subsidiary Throgmorton UK, is to relocate to New York to undertake his new role. He will be responsible for the development of Throgmorton USA, along with the Group’s Corporate Solutions businesses across the Americas, including the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Hanifan joined the Throgmorton UK business in 2017, prior to which he was a Principal at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, where he led the firm’s European hedge fund tax advisory team, and an Executive Director at EY.
“Apex acquired Throgmorton in June last year as part of its deal to buy the corporate services and private clients business from Link Asset Services. Collectively the businesses added over 600 employees to the group and an additional layer of experience in the corporate solutions space. The Group’s expansion of these solutions into the US reiterates the global firm’s ongoing intention to further penetrate the US market following a string of local acquisitions in 2019; including Atlantic Fund Services and Broadscope.
“The Throgmorton subsidiary has over 20 years’ experience delivering accounting and business services across the UK and will leverage this expertise to enable US based firms to build capacity within their business operations to focus on strategically important initiatives. Throgmorton USA’s services will be delivered to US managers by an experienced local team, based in New York.
