Designated City Constable Assigned To Hamilton Bermuda June 2020 (2)In an “effort to combat anti-social issues” PC Christopher Douglas has been assigned as the designated constable for the City of Hamilton.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service held a press conference on the steps of City Hall today to announce that a designated constable has been assigned to work with the City Hall administration, as well as Hamilton stakeholders, in an effort to combat anti-social issues and instill a heightened sense of security in the City.

“PC Christopher Douglas has been with the Bermuda Police Service for seven years and remarked that he was looking forward to playing a key role in bringing about an increased level of policing to the City and being able to liaise directly with City stakeholders, schools and business owners to address their concerns. PC Douglas will initially be assisted by PC Teledo Breary, an officer with nineteen years of policing.

“Chief Operating Officer at the City, Dwayne Caines, thanked the Bermuda Police Service and added that he was cautiously optimistic about the new initiative and looked forward to working with PC Douglas and PC Breary.

“He stated that having a designated officer would better serve the community as issues could be addressed in a timely manner and the ongoing dialogue would foster closer relationships between the Bermuda Police Service, the City and the public. He added that a safer Hamilton works for everyone.

“Also in attendance at the press conference were Superintendent Na’imah Astwood Bsc and Inspector Scott Devine.”
