August 10, 2020

Scott Barnes recently concluded taking part in the SKUSA Pro Tour Summer Nationals, finishing second overall after three days of racing.

Barnes was on the SKUSA G1 Class Podium for a third consecutive day after finishing second in the final.

In the pre-final race, Barnes encountered a mechanical issue after four laps and did not finish, this after starting in the pole position for the race.

In the final, which saw the drivers complete 16 laps, Barnes finished second by clocking a time of 20:17.070; he finished behind Joe Ruch, who clocked a winning time of 20:10.092.

Barnes finished the three days of racing with one win in the final, finishing second twice in the finals.

Barnes said, “I finished off the weekend with another second place. I made a change before the pre-final and found some speed, I was leading at lap 5 of 10 when my carburetor broke and I had to retire from the race.

“I had to start in the back in the final and wasn’t able to get to Ruch to try to challenge for the win.”
