Advisory: BIU Offices Close On Sept 4 & Sept 7
The BIU offices will close Friday [Sept 4] at 1:00pm out of respect for the late Calvin Smith who will be laid to rest, and on Monday [Sept 7] in celebration of Labour Day.
A spokesperson said, “BIU President, Chris Furbert has advised that the offices of the Bermuda Industrial Union [BIU] will close at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 4, 2020 out of respect for the late Calvin Smith, former Research Officer who will be laid to rest at 4:00 p.m. that same day at St. Theresa’s Cathedral so that staff can attend the homegoing service.
“Additionally, the BIU office will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2020 in celebration of Labour Day. The BIU office will re-open on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.”
