Five Active Storms Currently In Atlantic Area

As Hurricane Paulette moves away from the island, four more storms – Hurricane Sally, Tropical Storm Vicky, Tropical Storm Teddy, and Tropical Depression Rene – are also swirling in the Atlantic area, marking the first time in 49 years there have been five storms in the Atlantic.

The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration [NOAA] said, “In this view from NOAA GOES16, you can see 1 system spinning in the E. Pacific, Karina & 5 systems in Atlantic, Paulette, Rene, Sally, Teddy & Vicky. This is 1st time since Sept 1971 with 5 named storms at once in Atlantic”
