Photos: Warwick Academy Marks 359th Birthday
Warwick Academy hosted an event on Friday [Nov 6] to celebrate their 359th birthday and also launched their annual Giving Campaign named ’1662 Strong.’
A spokesperson said, “Warwick Academy kicked off their 359th birthday in style. Hamilton’s Town Crier Ed Christopher declared the day open as they had a grub day and students were encouraged to wear blue, put on their Bear ears and celebrate together.
“Alumni dug out their old tie, old PE uniform or simply found blue in the closet and spent the day shifting through the memories and friendships made during their time at Warwick Academy.
“In addition to its being the Warwick Academy Salute Day they launched their annual Giving Campaign with the week of giving. Warwick Academy’s week of giving, aptly named 1662 Strong, launched with a new giving website, filled with video’s, information and a list of live events.
Principal Dave Horan said, “Together we are stronger and over the past 358 years, whether a public or a private school, we have always maintained our public purpose. With that in mind this year our focus is on sustainability and flexibility. Flexibility has been our strength through the years and most noted during the Covid-19 months of 2020.
“Sustainability is what we strive towards as we continue to provide a world class education. Our week of giving is an opportunity for our alumni, parents, students, staff and friends of Warwick Academy to support our school as we focus on our way forward. Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us move forward together. We are Stronger Together…1662 Strong!”
