‘Sunday Shop ‘N Stroll’ Events In St. George’s
The St. George’s business community is inviting everyone to ‘shop local,’ as they band together to host ‘Sunday Shop & Stroll events’ on Sundays, starting November 29th and running until December 20th.
A spokesperson said, “St. George’s small business community invite you to ‘support local’ on a Sunday stroll, where you can enjoy the beauty of the town, eat, explore, and get your holiday shopping complete, all at once!
“This holiday, the community of small businesses of St. George’s invite Bermudians to shop local, as they band together for a festive series of events, every Sunday before Christmas starting Sunday November 29th and running through December 20th, 2020. And while locals will be able to check things off their holiday list, it really is about so much more.
“As a resident and co-creator of a business in St. George’s, I can say our mission is bigger than any individual retailer, our goal with this series is to remind Bermudians how important shopping local is; and to show what good can be done when this community comes together,” said Cris Dapena, of one of the creators of a local Olde Towne artist collective, Dragon’s Lair.
“We know how special St. George’s is and want to make it a place for all, not just to shop, but to enjoy and make a day of. Our gallery will be providing free gifts with each purchase, a kids’ draw each Sunday, and weather permitting a tent on the patio where artists will be creating and providing activities for kids to enjoy.”
The spokesperson added, “This series will be running 12 -4pm, featuring Bermuda-made jewelry, art, crafts, skincare products, clothing, and more. There will be tours of the historical old town, a bicycle tour run by Pedego at noon, kid-friendly activities, live music by Purple Ferdinand, special fall drinks offered by BruMae Caffe, and a local dance group to entertain you as you stroll this historic Olde Towne.
“For those looking to ensure you don’t just shop local but shop smart, there will be many special offers, as participating shops and restaurants will offer a ‘St George’s Shop ‘N Stroll Bingo Card’ where you get a stamp for any shop you spend $10 in. Six stamps will make you eligible for a weekly draw. Each week there will be an additional weekly shopping draw for local prizes.
