BAMZ Reopening On Monday January 25

January 21, 2021

The Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo [BAMZ] will be reopening to the public on Monday, 25 January 2021, after closing to the public since 12 December 2020.

A spokesperson said, “BAMZ will reopen the whole facility to members of the public, members and overseas visitors. We wish to thank our patrons for their patience as we navigate the challenges associated with the pandemic to keep our staff healthy and by extension ensure the continued care for our animal collections.

“First entry will be at 9 am, with the last admission at 4 pm. We encourage people to still sign-up online here to save time but visitors can still fill out a contact tracing form at the front desk if that is their preference. Those who do not sign-up in advance may have to wait briefly, if necessary, to provide adequate physical distancing between people, especially in the Aquarium Hall.

“Visitors to BAMZ, except for young children under the age of two, are required to wear face masks while indoors, in covered areas and when in animal exhibits. Visitors should disinfect their hands before coming onto the facility and observe physical distancing at all times.

“Requirements may change based on guidance from the Government of Bermuda, so visitors should take note of the protocols posted at the front entrance.”

“We are pleased to welcome visitors back to the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo. I am grateful to everyone who has been doing their part to stay safe during this time,” said the Minister of Home Affairs, Walter Roban. “I would also like to recognise the dedicated BAMZ staff, who continued to care for all the animals in the facility while it was closed to the public.”
