BWS Issue Gale Warning, Thunderstorm Advisory
The less than inviting weather conditions appear set to continue, with the Bermuda Weather Service issuing a Gale Warning valid for late Monday evening through Tuesday morning, and a Thunderstorm Advisory valid for Monday night through Tuesday morning.
The BWS forecast for Monday says, “Fair skies tend cloudy in afternoon, developing showers late. Winds south-southwesterly moderate, rapidly increasing southerly strong with gusts to gale force in afternoon, then strong to gale force with gusts to storm force and higher in elevated and exposed areas by midnight.
For Tuesday, the BWS states, “Cloudy, rain & showers, heavy at times, early thunder likely… Winds southerly strong to gale force gusts to storm force, with higher gusts in elevated and exposed areas, veering southwesterly strong with gusts to gale force by afternoon.”
BELCO, who has finished restoring power following the recent winter storm, confirmed today that they are “preparing for the next round of weather on Tuesday.”
