Schools Reopen For In-Class Learning On Jan 13
“All public schools will reopen for in-class learning on Wednesday, 13th January 2021,” the Government confirmed today, adding that “the decision was made by the Education Emergency Measures Committee [EEMC[ at a meeting held yesterday.”
“Bermuda Public school buildings are operational and prepared for the return of staff and students. Remote learning will stop and schools will function under normal schools hours and operate in strict adherence to the public health guidelines,” a spokesperson said.
Minister of Education Diallo Rabain said, “The EEMC has agreed to reopen school buildings on 13th January. I wish to thank the members of the EEMC for their assistance. I am of the firm belief that by working together, we can and will navigate through the consequences of the pandemic.”
Minister Rabain added, “I am asking our educators, parents and students to continue to review and remain updated with the health guidelines for schools. This includes mask-wearing, hand hygiene and physical distancing. We understand this is a stressful time, but we must continue to follow the advice given by the Department of Health.”
“We wish to thank teachers, staff, parents and students for their patience as we continue to work together. These are unprecedented times, and I am grateful for our school families and the community for their continued cooperation,” said Commissioner of Education, Kalmar Richards.
The representatives of the EEMC include the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education, the Bermuda Union of Teachers, the Bermuda Public Services Union, the Bermuda Industrial Union, the Department of Health, the Department of Communications, and Members of the Legislature.

Does anyone know if the minibuses will be taking the children to school?
Sorry to ask, but wouldn’t this severely risk the event of exposure for our children? What about those of us who are at risk house holds and recommend are children to be apart of the remote learning?
