BELCO & Ascendant Group Hold Food Drive
Staff from BELCO and Ascendant Group held a food drive campaign, and distributed approximately 700 bags of food to families this weekend.
A spokesperson said, “As Bermuda continues to be affected by the economic difficulties caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, BELCO staff decided they wanted to give back to the community and help families who may be facing difficulty by donating food.
“BELCO and Ascendant Group Company staff teamed up to raise money, purchase groceries, and gave their time to pack and distribute approximately 700 bags of food to hundreds of families from across the island this weekend.”
Ascendant President Wayne Caines said: “Our staff decided they wanted to help members of the community who may be struggling with basics such as food. They donated food, raised funds, and volunteered to pack hampers and distribute them to those in need. I’m proud of our team who are continuing this Company’s long history of giving back to the community and we look forward to continuing that support going forward.”
For “families in need”… velosters and other expensive cars in the pic lined up lol
Don’t be so ready to judge. There are no bus routes near BELCO, so think about the infirmed, the elderly, the sick and shut in.
Some cars there might be good Samaritans giving people who are in need a ride to BELCO or collecting on behalf of people who needs.
What the picture really shows is how great the need is.
