Brownies & Guides Take Part In KBB Clean Up
Bermuda’s Brownies and Guides recently participated in a Keep Bermuda Beautiful [KBB] clean up, working in the area across from Southampton Rangers Club.
A spokesperson said, “The Brownies and Guides participated in the KBB clean up on Saturday morning, where they worked in the area across from Southampton Rangers Club. Her Excellency, Ms. Rena Lalgie, and the Deputy Governor, who is also the Honourary President, Alison Crocket, assisted in the clean up.
“We usually have a Thinking Day Parade, but due to Covid this had to be cancelled. But on Sunday afternoon, the girls, along with their leaders, had a virtual Thinking Day Service along with songs, poems and stories.
“This year’s theme is ‘Standing together for Peace.’ Thinking Day Services are held around with world in honour of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, the founders of Scouts and Girlguiding, which includes Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers.
“We are always looking for volunteers to help with the units. Girls from the age of 5 and up are welcome. At present, meetings are held virtually.”
